September 2019 - The Heat Metering and Billing Regulations 2014 require heat suppliers (heat, cooling or hot water) to notify the Secretary of State if they have an existing heat network. Once again in 2019 Heat suppliers are obliged to submit updated notifications every four years, the deadline of the 31st December is on the horizon - this blog outlines the journey one Heat Network operator took and gives tips on how to meet the regulation time bomb here

December 2018 - BEIS launches consultation on the development of a market framework for heat networks in response to the Competitions and Markets report. The regulation framework will be put in place in 2019 and bring heat networks in line with gas and electricity regulation. See here.

 

July 2018 - the Competitions and Markets Authority launches its report on the Heat Networks market and makes recommendations for regulation. See here.
